What you shouldn’t miss to do when visiting Mykonos
Mykonos is a special island of Cyclades. It’s often synonym of the entertainment, destination for VIPs, young people and lovers of its unique beauty. The island has many different wonderful places, while it is offered for any kind of holidays. Additionally, it has a big advantage; you can visit Mykonos at any time, you will find exciting people and you will have a great time. There’s always a wonderful variety of Mykonos villas for rent on the island. Additionally, the Chora of Mykonos is really beautiful. Either for tourist purposes, or just from love to the traditional Cycladic style, the narrow streets are always colourful and full of flowers, contrasting the white walls. If you want to enjoy the island, you can wake up early in the morning, when the majority of the tourists is sleeping, and explore every corner of the island. The old port, the Little Venice, the small chapels, the traditional bakery shops and generally the whole spirit of the town are much more different without the many people. If you would love to enjoy all the wonderful feelings, just set your alarm a little earlier and go around!
The sun is an indivisible part of the Cyclades. It gives a special feeling to the islands and the waters which surround them. The best moments of seeing the sun are during the sunrise and sunset. For many people, the best place from where you can enjoy the sunrise in Mykonos is the Cavo Paradiso; this is probably the most famous club of Mykonos. It opens late in the night until the next morning. The feeling of seeing the rising sun, after a long night of fun, is doubtless unique. As for the sunset, the best place to see it is the Little Venice and the Windmills. The sun is going down in the sea and you can enjoy the view with a cocktail.
Last, but not least, Mykonos gives its travellers the chance to visit the neighbouring island. This is the holy island of Delos, the religious centre of the antiquity. Delos is connected with Mykonos with boats which transfer the visitors to the island within 30 minutes. When visiting Delos, you will be able to see some of the most important archaeological monuments of the world history. It’s worthwhile to spend half a day to admire all these beautiful places, in the land where Apollo and his twin sister Artemis were born, as the myth says.
If you want to enjoy Mykonos and its beauties, the best periods are at the beginning or at the end of summer, when the travellers are less.
From the other side, all the seasons are wonderful in this special island and everyone can choose his favourite one.
