The low-rise structure incorporates elements of traditional architecture and natural materials to represent its relationship both to the local architecture and the arid Cycladic landscape. Built on a slope, the house comprises two levels that open to a generous outdoor space with endless views of the bright blue waters.
The interior adheres to the principles of minimalism dictated both by modern architecture and the island’s vernacular. Clean lines, polished concrete floors and uniform white walls that reflect the sunlight create a canvas that allows nature to become the focal point of the setting. To that end, the living areas are pierced by glass doors that connect the interior to the landscape.
Ornamentation is kept to a minimum, with a few handpicked objects that are carefully placed around the house to complement the toned-down décor. The ground level features a cozy living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a guest WC. A staircase leads to four different sized bedrooms that occupy the lower level, all equipped with glass doors that open to the terrace and their own bathroom.
Although the house is part of a complex, it is designed to offer privacy without compromising its captivating vistas.
